De wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning ( WMO)
Deze wet wordt uitgevoerd door de gemeente. Binnen kaders die opgelegd zijn door de overheid mag de gemeente zelf invulling geven aan de uitvoering van de wet. Hierdoor kan het voorkomen dat wat in gemeente A wel kan, dit in gemeente B niet het geval is.
De wet is bedoeld als aanvulling op dat wat je zelf kunt regelen of waarbij anderen – familie, vrienden, buren of vrijwilligers – jou kunnen helpen. De WMO regelt ondersteuning die niet medisch is. Het gaat hierbij bijvoorbeeld om vervoer, woningaanpassingen, huishoudelijke hulp en respijtzorg (dagbesteding, logeeropvang).
De gemeente Scherpenzeel heeft een WMO-loket waar u met uw (aan)vragen terecht kunt. Wilt u hierbij hulp, dan kunt u contact opnemen met het Steunpunt Mantelzorg of met de cliëntondersteuning van MEE of SWO-SR. Na het doen van een aanvraag krijgt u een consulent WMO op bezoek voor het zogenaamde (tafel)gesprek. U kunt zich hierop voorbereiden, hiervoor kunt u het volgende formulier downloaden en gebruiken.
Als u gebruik maakt van regelingen die binnen de WMO vallen, betaalt u maandelijks een maximale bijdrage van 19 euro, ongeacht hoeveel u af neemt van de WMO. U zult altijd door de consulent WMO hierover geïnformeerd worden.
